May 5, 2018

..sometimes I prefer to be ‘just curious’ and have a go, rather than an expected outcome. You never know what you will find if you are open to whatever flows. … More Begin with the End in Mind?

R.A.I.N

Living in the Tropics I know how a cooling rain can relieve tension and bring happiness (imagine little children running and splashing). This Mindful technique can clear your mind and help you work through difficulties.
My thanks to Tara Brach for introducing me to this.

R – Recognize what is happening
A – Allow life to be just as it is
I – Investigate inner experience with kindness
N – Non-Identification. Nurture yourself.

Gratitude

Develop the habit of being grateful throughout the day, create a gratitude jar or include in your daily meditation.

I am really grateful for the talks, interviews and meditations Rick has provided.

The following are some ideas from Rick Hanson, Foundations of Wellbeing.
I feel thankful for this beautiful world, where each breath is a gift of air, each dawn a gift of light. For the plants and animals that die so I may live.
I feel thankful for the wonder of the universe, for all the atoms in my body—the carbon in my bones, the oxygen and iron in my blood—that were born in the heart of a star billions of years ago, to drift through space, to form a sun and planets, to form the hand that holds this piece of paper and the eye that reads this word.
I feel thankful for all that was in order for me to be. For grace, for wisdom, for the sacred, for spirit as I know it. For this moment, this breath, this sight. For every good thing that was, that is, that ever will be.
